Weekly News: April 2-6

This week, we are beginning our study on TADPOLES!!! We are so excited to read and write all about tadpoles and learn about their life cycle. To help us learn, please welcome (and excuse the quality of the picture) our new class pets....

They have been making a splash in my kitchen this weekend and I cannot wait for the kids to see them!

We have been invited to an Easter Egg Hunt at Braswell's on THIS Thursday, April 5th at 10:30. PERMISSION SLIP COMING HOME MONDAY! Weekly News: March 25-29

We had so much fun celebrating St. Patrick's Day and sharing our leprechaun traps.

Electives and tutoring will begin again THIS WEEK.

We have been invited to an Easter Egg Hunt at Braswell's on Thursday, April 5th at 10:30. Keep an eye out for the permission slip in your folder. If you would like to accompany our class for this walking field trip, please let me know!

Last week, we began "Fun Friday". This is an extra recess/free-time outside for students who finished ALL of their weekly classwork. Students have EVERY DAY during math time AND center time to work on classwork and those who finish will be rewarded with Fun Friday. Students that do not finish their work will stay in the classroom. Fun Friday is great motivation for students to make better use of their time in the classroom - this is ALSO preparing them for independent working in the first grade!

Happy Spring Break!

We had such a great time yesterday celebrating Dr. Seuss! Between relaxing and reading in our PJ's, to green eggs and ham, and our visit from Thing 1, Thing 2, and the Cat - it was quite a day! A big thank you to all of our guest readers and to everyone who helped make our Dr. Seuss week special!

Happy Spring Break to all! Have a wonderful and relaxing vacation. Don't forget to write to me in your March journals :) I will see you at school on Monday, March 19th.
